From Tijuana to Portland

Chaneki Vintage is a small, heart-driven project I created as a way to honor the street markets I grew up with in Tijuana, Mexico — what we lovingly call sobreruedas, which literally means “on wheels,” because vendors set up their stands along the streets, often from trucks or carts, creating vibrant moving markets that appear in a different neighborhood each day.

Since I was a child, I’ve been drawn to the magic of secondhand markets — places where every item holds a story and the unexpected always waits around the corner.

Cheneki is more than a shop — it’s a quiet act of resistance. I believe the world already has enough stuff. What we need is to reimagine what already exists. My mission is to give new life to forgotten clothes, celebrate individuality, and encourage a more thoughtful, sustainable way of consuming.
